Hyperpigmentation is one of the most persistent skin concerns to address because most brightening products work at the surface while the melanin overproduction driving the discoloration happens beneath it. Effective correction requires interrupting the tyrosinase enzyme, the catalyst responsible for converting tyrosine into melanin, before excess melanin can be deposited and become visible as dark spots or uneven tone.
Circadia Licorice and Bearberry Brightening Mist targets that process through a multi-extract botanical brightening system, each component working on the same tyrosinase pathway from a slightly different angle.
Licorice Root Extract (Glycyrrhiza Glabra) contains glabridin, one of the most studied natural tyrosinase inhibitors available, with a track record in both standalone and combined brightening formulas for its ability to fade existing pigmentation and prevent new melanin from forming. Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi (Bearberry) Leaf Extract, the foundation of Melfade PF alongside Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, a stable Vitamin C derivative, adds dual tyrosinase inhibition and antioxidant protection that stabilizes and amplifies the brightening effect. Morus Alba (Mulberry) Twig Extract brings a third botanical brightening agent known for its melanin-inhibiting properties and its ability to promote overall luminosity.
Melanostatin 5 (Nonapeptide-1) is the formula's most sophisticated brightening active, a skin-whitening peptide that functions as an antagonist to alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (a-MSH), blocking the upstream signal that triggers tyrosinase activation in the first place. This is a fundamentally different mechanism from the botanical extracts, and the combination of both approaches makes the formula more comprehensive than single-pathway brightening mists.
MariMoist, a combination of Hyaluronate and Chondrus Crispus (Red Algae/Carrageenan) Sea Plant Extract, rounds out the formula by binding large quantities of water to the skin, improving texture and immediately softening and hydrating with every application. Sodium Hyaluronate adds a second layer of humectant moisture support.
The mist is designed to be used twice daily as a toner step after cleansing, and works synergistically with the full Circadia brightening line including the White Veil Brightener and Bright White Serum. It is also noted as effective for brightening beyond the face, including underarm and bikini areas.

Always follow the morning application with a broad-spectrum SPF. Tyrosinase inhibitors slow new melanin formation, but UV exposure is the primary trigger that restimulates melanin overproduction in the first place. Without daily sun protection, brightening actives are constantly working against a reset button that gets pushed every time you step outside. SPF is what lets the formula's correction actually stick.

• Twice daily, morning and evening, after cleansing: close eyes and lightly mist over the face from about 8 to 10 inches away.
• Allow to absorb fully before applying serums or moisturizer. Do not rinse.
• Morning routine: follow with Vitamin C Reversal Serum and a broad-spectrum SPF.
• Evening routine: follow with Bright White Serum applied to pigmented areas, then White Veil Brightener as your finishing moisturizer step.
• Can also be applied to underarm or bikini areas for targeted brightening benefits.
